I was 11 years old when these came out and I thought they were badass... Always thought they’d be cool with more motor and RWD. Honestly, nowadays, one of these with an Ecoboost or similar super turbo four-banger would be crazy cool...

They are actually very stout from factory. The rwd swap consists of a kit like this:
And mounting a rear end, which is also quite easy/stout given the rear suspension design.
I researched this pretty heavily when I had my old Acclaim as all the parts would swap in no problem.
